Hidden Huntington Series

In the 1960's I started photographing at the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens. I grew to appreciate, not only the formal gardens, but also the lesser noticed areas of the Huntington.

Photography gave me an opportunity to explore and photograph the grounds in both the public and non-public areas and during the public and non-public hours.

I have never been interested in identifying the location and plant names. I gave up on pronouncing the botanical names long ago. I was mainly interested in capturing the light reflecting the shapes and textures of the subject matter.

Thanks to the the groundskeepers, custodians, security, curators, volunteers, and managers for their help and access to the Hidden Huntington.
